Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Monson- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our "beloved" brother Mark.  Surrounded by his sisters, who never left his side, Mark E. Demers, 62, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, after a long illness.  He was born on April 7, 1958, the son of the late Edward D. Demers and Margaret "Terry" (Johnson) Demers.  He was a resident of both Palmer and Chicopee, before moving to Monson to be closer to his sisters.  Mark worked for 25 years at Northeast Contractors, where he made many close friends.  He enjoyed going to the Polish Club in Ludlow and My Bother's Place in Chicopee to meet up with his friends and play Keno or scratch a ticket or two, but mainly just to laugh and have a good time.  Mark also enjoyed a good football game and the many family functions that were had.  Besides his parents, Mark was predeceased by his brother Kenneth in 2006.  Mark will be deeply missed by his sisters, Elizabeth Girouard, Margaret Garman, Rosemary Demers-Hurst (Jeff), and Jennifer Trant.  He also leaves a close family member, Keith Unwin, along with many extended family members.  Mark's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Trinity Hospice for all of their support, compassion, and kindness.  A special thank you to Arlene, his hospice nurse, for her patience and care.  Mark always had a thumbs up or a "wave-off" of the hand for her, but all in all, he still managed to pull at her "heart strings".  We will always remember that special twinkle in his eyes, his quirky smile, and his beautiful heart of gold, filled with kindness and love.  Godspeed to our brother, until we meet again.  A funeral service for Mark will be held on Wednesday, March 24, at 9:30a.m., at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.  At their request, Mark's sisters wish to please keep the funeral service limited to members of the immediate family.  To share a memory with the family or to leave your condolences, please visit www.CorridanFuneral.com
