Mark Drabicki Obituary

Mark Ludwik Drabicki, 60, of Rocky Hill, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home. He was born in Hartford, March 30, 1963, son of the late Ludwik and Bogumila (Stanek) Drabicki. Mark was a kind hearted soul. He was good natured, friendly, and had an infectious smile. He always kept us laughing by leaving us with a corny joke. He left us too soon.

Mark graduated from South Catholic High School, Hartford. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years. He enjoyed auto racing, muscle cars, motorcycles, classic rock and watching the Boston Red Sox.

Mark leaves his sister, Elizabeth Buccheri and her husband Joseph, Jr of Cromwell; his beloved nephew and niece, Joseph Buccheri, III and Daniella Buccheri both of Cromwell, and many close friends and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's memory may be made to: American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Burial services will be private and at a later date. I never once had a conversation with Mark. Didn't even know his name, but I always saw him in passing at work as he was leaving and I was coming in. I was heartbroken to see his obituary posted at work. He ALWAYS walked past me and greeted me with a smile and a hello. Such a kind soul. Sending condolences to his loved ones.

I met Mark at the USPS P&DC in Hartford. He would come in every day with that beautiful smile and happy-go-lucky personality. He would tell me a joke every day I saw him. I sometimes would even stop him to see if he had a silly joke for me! He was such a sweet, kind gentleman. He will surely be missed. Sending my deepest condolences and prayers of comfort to his family and friends.

Our hearts are broken. Mark was one of the sweetest, kind & happiest people I have ever met. He was always smiling & me told you a joke whenever he saw me. We both loved racing & would talk about racing & even attended races at Stafford Motor Speedway. I will forever remember his beautiful smile. Rest in Peace my friend.
