Not sure what to say?

I was a classmate and teammate of Mark's for 5 years and I loved him very much. We started a band together in 8th grade and he played piano instead of drums, which he preferred, because another band member could only play drums. He was the center on every basketball team I played on even though he was only 6' tall. He was a receiver on all the football teams I was on and always did what he was supposed to do. I am writing this 8 years too late and I would give anything to be able to talk to...

Kathy. I have just learned with great sadness of Marks passing, after all these years. Our EDHS Class of 68 is preparing for our 50th Reunion and I heard through a classmate. I have so many wonderful memories of our childhood and young adult friendship. Its a shock to know hes been gone so many years, my heart goes out to you and the kids. I remember so well when he happily told me about you and when your children were born. He was a wonderful friend and man. I hope, in these years that have...

I went to high school with Mark and lived right across the street from him in Placerville. On summer evenings when our windows were open we could all hear Mark playing the piano. He played beautifully. He was kind to everyone and had a wonderful smile.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Gigi Ronzone-Gay

Please accept our condolences on Marks passing. Over 50 years ago Mark and I became friends when my family moved to Placerville. My father was to be the Athletic Director at El Dorado High School, and Marks father was the unofficial team Doctor and our family physician. Mark became my first friend in a new town, and I will always remember him for his kindness.

Mr. Elliott was my 6th Grade teacher at Hosford Middle School. I have fond memories of that year. He made everyone feel important. I always loved his smile behind that beard. My love goes out to his family.

I did not know Mark but read his obituary with interest when I saw that he had died of PSP, the same neurological disease which had afflicted my mother. I offer my sincerest condolences to you, Mark's family, as I know how hard it was for you to see him decline over a period of years. I wished that I had known him...it is clear that he was an exceptional man and teacher.

I'm grateful for Mr. Elliott and the time, talent and care he shared with myself and my classmates. I'm a teacher today, in no small part, because of his example. I will share his life with my students tomorrow.
