Mark Fasshauer

Mark was so little when he began cello lessons that a viola ? was fitted with a post. It was placed on top of the piano. He called it the hihi.

I am so sad to hear of Mark's passing. I just learned about it. We were only acquaintances but had some wonderful conversations. He used to come into the restaurant where I worked. A decade later we ran into each other again when I was the soprano soloist at a wedding he played.
What a delightfully kind, wise, and unusual person, immensely talented, and so much more.

I knew Mark as a young boy playing across the street. Parents were great friends. He was like a big brother. It was exciting to get back in touch through Facebook, after my mom had passed away and before Mary had passed. She was my choir teacher in 7 th grade. I will. Ever forget his love for his basset hound.

I am so broken hearted to hear of Mark's passing. He was my first love in high school at NCSA and I will never forget him. I will always remember his beautiful blue eyes and his amazing talent. My prayers go out to his family and all who loved him.

Mark, a gentle soul and talented man, will be missed by many. What a wonderful life he lived.

I've known Mark for nearly 40 years when we first performed with the Grant Park Orchestra together. I'll remember him as musically intense, warm and very friendly with a beautiful family! We had some wonderful times together! Peace!
