Not sure what to say?

My mother just found out today that Dr. Feinglos had passed in March when calling to make a follow-up appointment with him. She was Dr. Feinglos' patient since 1978 shortly after I was born. She saw him regularly over the last 41 years including just a few months ago, and she never switched doctors despite the fact that we moved from North Carolina to Michigan, Delaware, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama and Virginia. My mother's relationship with Dr. Feinglos was one of the most important of her...

While reading the N&O this morning, I noticed a picture of a man who looked familiar, causing me to open and read the article. Unfortunately, I was surprised and saddened to learn that it was a colleague from the diabetes research community who I have known for 30+ years. While retired now, I will remember our enjoyable interactions over the years. Peace be with you Mark and to your family.

I was very saddened to learn this morning that Dr. Feinglos is no longer with us. He was my doctor for almost 40 years. I am very thankful to have been under the care of one who is recognized for his commitment and research in diabetes care. May he rest in peace! My condolences are extended to his family, with the hope that they will be comforted by ever-present memories of their time together.

Thank you for all you have done for me. Dr. Feinglos your kindness and care for your patients will never be forgotten.

Dr Feinglos treated me longer than any other doctor in my lifetime. I will truly miss him and he knew how to keep my thyroid under control. Doris West Wilson, NC

I was greatly shocked to hear of Mark's death. He was part of our monthly Chemistry QA meeting, and attended our meeting on March 11 by webcast and made several comments. I have known Mark for my entire career at Duke and always found him to be very approachable, genuinely helpful and kind, and very intelligent with his observations. I will greatly miss him.
