I had the pleasure to map geology of Appalachians with Mark in recent years.
I will miss his expertise and stories of his travels.

Mark was one of my favorite students. He was curious, kind, intelligent and funny. All of the geology faculty at UT will remember him fondly.

Mark will be remembered as a hardworking field geologist by us at the University of Toledo. It was a pleasure to have him complete graduate work and assist other students while here. My colleague, Stu Dean, was helped immensely by his companionship and skills in the mapping of West Virginia's Appalachian geology.

I share in mourning Mark's passing along with all his fellow OTs. My thoughts and prayers are with your family!
