As I work to put together a Pegasus cd I fondly remember getting permission slips from your parents to play in the Bona Vista, Mc Vans, etc. long ago my friend. Sorry I was out of the country for your final goodbye. Like many, many others you touched through the years with your explosive creativity, I thank you Mark.

Now it's over 14 years since you split the scene down here. . . the many seeds of inspiration you planted down here are flowering in so many ways- your energy still reverberates around your various communities. The ripples are endless just as we knew it would be. Thank You for showing so many of us what is possible. . . xox xox

Bringing his acoustic and casually dropping F bombs the students and I were riveted . Knowing Jimbo as well I attended a party at his parents house . My mom knew his father from art classes at her High School . Seeing The Fems at The Continental solidified my belief that Mark is STILL a legendary artist with mythical proportions to Buffalo NY . I am still saddened by his...

Gone but not gone
Alive in heart, soul and memory
Hearing his voice, his laugh,
our conversations in mindsight
The stuff of forever
We learned much from each other

I recently went back in my music collection and spent some time listening to early Genesis. Of course this brought me back to Mark Freeland and my days at SUNY Buffalo. I have not been able to get Mark out of my mind since I listened to Genesis last week. He loved Genesis and Peter Gabriel in particular. Some of Mark's stage antics back then were influenced by Gabriel and Mark became a master of theatrical performance. I can still picture Mark on stage and how we would retreat into the...
