Mark Galbreath, son of David and the late Carol Galbreath, unexpectedly passed Saturday, July 12, 2025. Mark was a dedicated individual in all aspects of his life. He was a loving soul with kindness being his top priority. He graduated from Martinsburg High School, in West Virginia, Class of 1989. He then continued his education at GMI, General Motors Institute, with an engineering degree, graduating in 1994. Mark worked endlessly for General Motors for 36 years increasing his knowledge and work skills throughout. The number of people that Mark touched throughout his short 54 years here on earth were endless. He is the most selfless and giving person. There was not a person he would not help, organization he would not donate to, or team he would not coach. Anyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with Mark can attest to that.
His beautiful family began when he married his wife, Stephanie McKay on July 6th, 1996 in Flushing, Michigan. Born into the most loving environment were his three children Kaitlyn, Luke, and Kyle. Mark enjoyed all aspects of family life, especially the kids sporting events - dance, football, and basketball. He always participated with his whole self. Giving lots of advice, teaching patience, and kindness above anything else. There was nothing he was more proud of than his kids. Mark was looking forward to welcoming his first grandson into the world this coming October. Mark loved spending time and traveling with family the most. He and his family cherished countess memorable trips together in Orange Beach, Alabama, where he and his wife planned to retire. The family created lasting traditions, shared laughter, and enjoyed the beauty of the Gulf coast. Those special times spent by the ocean became treasured moments that brought the family closer together and will forever be remembered with warmth and fondness. Mark always wanted to share memories with the most fun and laughter imaginable. He loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed golfing, floating on the boat, visiting the beach, and his dogs! Mark passed doing one of the things he loved most, relaxing on the lake accompanied by his grand-dog.
At one point, Mark and Stephanie lived in Baltimore, Maryland. While living here he and Stephanie created a number of memories exploring, eating great food, and of course, rooting on the best NFL team. This is where the devoted fandom to the Baltimore Ravens began. He was not just a fan, he was a believer through every high and low for this team. Rain or shine, win or lose, he never missed a game. They were more than a team, the Ravens are a part of who he was. Mark has passed the love for this team down to his family.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Stephanie Galbreath of Linden. His twin sons Lucas and Kyle Galbreath, Daughter Kaitlyn (Galbreath) Smith, Son-in-law Neil Smith, Sister Angie Frye, Father David Galbreath. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Galbreath, and the best dog, Trooper.
His family wishes to invite you to attend his celebration of life at Swartz Funeral Home in Flint, Michigan Thursday, July 17th from 4-7pm. The funeral will be held the following day, July 18th at 1pm at the funeral home. His family kindly asks, if at all possible, please wear Baltimore Ravens gear (black and purple) in honor of their greatest fan.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations are made to the Angle Tree Foundation, run by the Salvation Army, continuing Mark's legacy of giving and helping those in need.

Stephanie and Family, I send my sincere condolences for your loss. The words about Mark rang very true for me as a former coworker. What a wonderful father, husband, and family man he was. Mark was my manager as a Kettering Co-op at Flint Truck turned full time engineer in plant engineering. Every interaction was filled with patience, kindness, and genuine concern for helping whatever issue I faced at work in a challenging environment all the way through to my pursuit to the next role at...

Stephanie, I'm filled with sorrow hearing the news about Mark.
Your wedding was a magical day. I knew you were marrying a great man.
You and Mark built a beautiful life and family together, it breaks my heart that it was not nearly long enough.
I pray that you find comfort and peace.
To the Galbreath and McKay family, You are also in my thoughts and prayers.

Mark, an inspiring leader and loyal friend. The difference between a work place and a good place to work is the people that make it so

What I loved about Mark is that he always had a positive, can-do attitude. He had a self-confidence that came through in his smile giving everyone a sense that whatever came our way, we were going to be ok and up to the challenge. You will be missed by all who knew you.

Stephanie, I’m hurting for you. I truly appreciated both you and Mark’s energy and passion at GM Baltimore. I was a young intern turned full-time employee who needed mentors like you guys early in my career. I’ll be praying for your family. In honor of MarkGo Ravens!
