Not sure what to say?

I, as well as other Mark's neighbors at 135 Willow Street will miss him grandly. Mark brought wisdom, joy, friendship and so much clarity to questions of life in our frequent gatherings over dinner and wine. I hope he is happy where he is and knows that we loved him.

My husband and I and other friends of Mark's who were his neighbors deeply miss his broad smile and the full-of-mischchief twinkle in his eyes. It's a sad, shocking loss. I found comfort in Simon Golby's declaration that being distressed is exactly what Mark would not want. Mark was a searcher, and I'm consoled that he made the crusader's trek in Spain last summer. Maybe he's talking things over with Philip Seymour Hoffman.
God love him.

I met Mark on the Camino de Santiago - he was a very special man, sharing his emotional feelings at being on this journey - one he'd wanted to do for many years and due to illness never thought he would. He would often stop at a certain point and take in that he was 'doing it' and get quite teary. I loved that and that he shared with me.
A lovely, genuine, wonderful pilgrim.
