Mark E. Harmon Layton - Mark Eugene Harmon, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend returned to the loving embrace and comfort of his Heavenly Father on April 24, 2010. Born November 4, 1961, in Anchorage Alaska, to Derral L Harmon and Berniece Ann Hotchkiss. He met and married his best friend and eternal companion Lesia Ann Elliott Harmon on September 16, 1982 in the LDS Jordan River Temple. They were blessed with four beautiful children. Kyle Mark Harmon (Keiley), Layton, UT; Curtis Roland Harmon (Rachel), Salt Lake City, UT; Amanda Marie Harmon, Layton, UT; Emilee Kiyra Harmon, Layton, UT. His pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Ashlee Ann Harmon and Jaxon Allen Harmon. He was the best Bam-Pa ever! His family was his world. He enjoyed fishing, yearly camping trips to Trial Lake, golfing, motorcycle rides with his sweetheart and taking care of his horse Bella. He worked tirelessly to make sure his family always had the extras in life. Many memories will remain forever of vacations, cruises and times spent together rooting for the Utah Jazz. Mark graduated from high school in 1987 and pursued further education through the University of Phoenix. He worked for 12 years for Levolor in Ogden, UT and for the past 10 years in the restaurant industry at IHOP, Golden Corral and Corner Bakery Café. He was a member of the Country Oaks LDS Ward and held many callings over his lifetime. Mark was preceded in death by his father and grandparents and devoted four legged companions Charlie and Rocky. He is survived by his wife, children and loving Mother Berniece (Bunny) Grossheim (Leon). Also his siblings Marilyn Harmon, Rancho Cordova, CA; Kevin Harmon (Teri), Las Vegas, NV; and DeeAnn Lockhart (Jason), Citrus Heights, CA. He will be greatly missed by many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly! Services will be held Friday April 30th at 11:30 AM at the Country Oaks LDS Ward building at 2680 E Cherry Lane, Layton, UT. A Viewing will be held Thursday April 29th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Myers Mortuary in Layton, 250 N. Fairfield as well as 10-11:15 a.m. prior to the services at the church on Friday.
