Not sure what to say?

Our thoughts and prayers to Mark’s mother and any other relatives. We knew Mark through the Optimist Club. This was such a shock.

Kathy and Buddy Alves

My sincere condolences to Mark's family and friends. I first met Mark through the Mitigation Advisory Committee several years ago. He was always present at meetings, willing to offer helpful comments, a voice of reason. He exemplified what civil servants should be. May God bless you.

To Mark's family, my heart goes out to you. I had the pleasure of working with Mark at MDOT, and he was always a kind, friendly person that went out of his way to help me and others when we needed it. I will remember him fondly.

Mark was a member of the Timonium Optimist Club in the Maryland-South Delaware District and truly represented everything that the Optimist organization stood for. He was a true "Friend of Youth" and constantly seeking to "bring out the best in kids, everywhere". He was well supported by his wife Fran in providing enlightened leadership to his Optimist Club, and then was called upon by the Optimists of Maryland and South Delaware to share his management skills with all of the clubs while...

My sympathy goes out to the family of Mark for losing a great person. I knew Mark from my work relationship with him for many years. Many memories while working long days at MEMA. He was always helpful and a true professional. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Mark was a funny, hard working friend. Deepest sympathies to his family.

A wonderful man and true professional who exemplified service.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Mark passed away. I had the pleasure of meeting him 13 years ago when I walked through the doors at MDOT. He was a great man and will surely be missed by everyone who knew him. He and I had many laughs together at the copier as well as in the kitchen area and the 3rd floor surely won't be the same without him. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time. Fly high my friend.

Mark was the true "Gentle Giant." My wife and I were lucky to have had him amongst our friends. There was no one kinder, no one more charitable, no one more caring than Mark. And now he is with his beloved Fran and I am sure he is at peace. Mark, you will not be forgotten.
