I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing. Mark was my mentor as I began my career with the Mercury News. He showed me the ropes as moved to my first full-time position as his swing person in Palo Alto back in 1984. He was hard working and a good union man. He taught me to work hard which is what we had to do as we continually had to recruit youths to do routes. He never let me pay for breakfast as he seemed very appreciative of my efforts. We continued to work together for over 10 years...
