BOW -- Mark Jamerson Hinton Sr., 59, of Brown Hill Road, died May 21, 2010, after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born in Canton, Ohio, to Richard and Irene (Wertz) Hinton. He was U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a senior master sergeant after serving 20 years. He was a sergeant for the New Hampshire State Liquor Commission, retiring in April 2010.

He enjoyed writing and acting in plays, both of which he did to raise money for local charities. He enjoyed bowling and shooting pool.

He was a lifetime member of the Franklin VFW, the Hooksett American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Family members include his wife, Rosemary (Geer) Hinton of Bow; four children, Jason M. Hinton stationed in Italy, Brandon J. Hinton of Barnstead, Amanda Hinton of Bristol and Mark Jamerson Hinton Jr. of Concord; four grandchildren; two sisters, Becky Steele of Indiana and Diane Hinton of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Visiting hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St., Concord. A memorial service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at noon at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. Military honors will be provided.

Donations may be made to American Legion Riders Fisher House or to The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, 5 Riverside St., Hooksett 03106.
