Not sure what to say?

Mark and I were deputy sheriffs in the Guerneville sub-station in 1969. We worked with Gary Heck. The summer of 1970 we talked Gary into letting us cut firewood off his property. We worked long and hard and after a couple of days I came down with the worst case of poison oak and stopped our firewood business for good. After that summer my main purpose in life was to kill every poison oak plant I could find. Mark had no problem he didn’t catch any poison oak, must have been one of those...

Rest in peace. You are a good man, Charlie Brown...and you will be sorely missed. The angels are weeping joyful tears, as you join them. I will keep in close touch with Kim...and we will all be together again one day. Until then, we will continue to work hard, be kind and compassionate in all that we do...and shop at Goodwill...

Rest in peace Mark. Thank you for all your service to humanity. You will be missed.

To Mark: You are one of the most dignified men I have ever known. I wish I had more of an opportunity to get to know you better. I remember your constant smile and gentle demeanor. I won't forget you!!!!

Mark's honesty and integrity inspired me as a young law enforcement employee, and although I've had many mentors since then, few have equaled Mark's character and advice. Rest in peace!

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mark. May you find comfort during this
difficult time.-Psalms 9:9 VO

In my time on the Board of Goodwill I found Mark to be one of the most inspiring, dedicated, and decent leaders I have ever worked with.

He was my most formidable foe in court and later became my good friend. In my forty five years in the justice system, he was by far the best sheriff, but more importantly iconic in his service to our community. A huge loss, but a legacy that will endure
