Mark Henry Johnson, 58, passed away after a valiant struggle with cancer at the Solvay Hospice House on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Mark was born on July 19, 1949. He graduated from Central High School in 1967 and then spent time in the Air National Guard. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers' Local 10 for over 30 years. On June 13, 1970 he married his high school sweetheart Kathy and they were happily married for 38 years and have lived on Island Lake for the past 18 years. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grand children while enjoying his time on the lake. He was a patient, kind, loving and quick to lend a helping hand. You couldn't ask for a better father and no words can properly describe the impact he had on the lives he touched. He is missed and will live in our hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gale Garberg. He is survived by parents, Henry and Joyce Johnson; wife, Kathy Johnson; children, Tara Leuthard, Benjamin (Polly) Johnson Cashen, and Bethany Johnson; brother, Paul Johnson; sister, Dana (Ken) Fromberg; two grandchildren, Abigail Leuthard and Margaret Yach; and numerous nieces and nephews. I went to school with Mark for many years. We weren't close friends and I haven't seen him since we graduated--but I remember him well as a very nice person. He had such a sweet spirit and had high integrity. I am so sorry for your loss. Your notes about him are wonderful. He had a great life. Your memories will be a big comfort to you. God Bless your family,
