Mark was a very special young man to me. My first year at Homestead and he and his friends made it more than interesting to say the least. They made it fun and crazy. Mark was the leader of the band of brothers and rightly so. He could make me so mad at times, but it didn't last long. All he had to do was put on that grin and you just burst out laughing. Mark loved to fish and hunt. My son Knute, and Mark enjoyed fishing and hunting, and skiing together. They worked and played hard. From fishing the Pere Marquette River (P.M.) to the Manistee to Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay, to Little and Big Bay DeNoc, and Lake Superior, they enjoyed each others company fishing and hunting. Oh, the stories these two would tell. From pheasants, to ducks and geese, to rabbits, deer, and grouse, and bear, they had fun enjoying the great out-of-doors....
