Not sure what to say?

I studied at Boston College in the early 1980ies. As an ordained Columban Mark welcomed me to the Columban House in Cambridge. He was a wonderful host, a spiritual leader and a magnificent friend. As an Australian away from home at Christmas, Mark invited me to his parent´s home - his poor mother probably needed visitors like a hole in the head! Lovely folk. My contact with Mark has been limited over the years with a yearly contact around SuperBowl time. Our last meeting was about 4 years ago...

Father Mark was the best Priest that I ever had the pleasure of meeting. Father would say mass at Holy Name of Jesus after we lost our Priest. God, now has a new golf partner. Thank you Father Mark for the impact that you had on my life.

We implore your kindness, O God, for Father Mark Mengel, your servant and Priest, that, as you made him a steward of your mysteries on earth, so you may bring him to be nourished by their truth and reality as unveiled in heaven. Through Christ our Lord. AMEN.

Our sincere condolences to the family of dear Fr Mark Mengel in behalf of all the parishioners of his former parish church - Holy Name in Springfield. He will be missed. He was a warm / kind and very outgoing parish priest who inspired us with his thought provoking sermons/ very friendly and supportive spiritual leadership . May he rest in peace with the angels and the Lord .

He was a wonderful priest we all loved him. Our most sincere condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.

Father Mark was great, a great priest, human being. We knew him from Holy Name and always remember his first time there, his introduction as he walked strongly down the steps of the altar to introduce himself. He was such a man of faith, a joy to talk with, a man of God. We are so glad we had the chance to know him and hear the word of God from him.

Condolences to Family & Friends, Fr. Mark´s infectious smile will be missed! All who were blessed to know him know they were in the presence of a great human being . He will be missed

Fr. Mark Mengel , he was the BEST. His sermons were the best, always relating to the people he was speaking to. Such a great demeanor & sense of humor. I was invited to a mass in Holyoke about a year ago from a friend, after the closing of Holy Name/Assumption in Chicopee. WHo was saying this mass? at St. Jerome's? Father Mark. I knew it was a sign. Deepest condolences to his family, all of his "people".

I GREW UP IN HOLYOKE WITH MARK AND HAVE REMAINED A FRIEND FOR OVER THE PAST 70 YEARS. I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT FOR THE LIFE HE LED AND THE MANNER IN WHHICH HE CONDUCTED HIMSELF. HE WAS THE SALT OF THE EARTH. REGRETABLY MY HEALTH DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO ATTEND THE SERVICES IN SPRINGFIELD. HOWEVER, I WANT TO EXTEND MY CONDOLENCES TO PAUL, CHRIS AND ROSALIE. THE MENGEL FAMILY HAS BEEN VERY KIND TO ME OVER THE YEARS AND I HAVE MANY PLEASANT MEMORIES OF ALL OF THEM.
