I'm totally gutted to hear about the passing of my friend, Mark Murray. I met him in 1994, when my old band were doing our first recording in an actual studio. He was the engineer. He is the person that inspired me to pursue music production. In addition to his talent and ears as a producer, he was also an accomplished keyboardist, singer, and songwriter. He was a very kind and humble man, who leaves behind a loving family, and scores of friends and associates whom all respect and will miss...

I've known Mark for about 54 years. I lived across the street from him in Lubbock, Texas. We hung out all the time. We had comics and music in common. We had another neighbor his name was Kim and we were so tight. Mark and I and a Texas guitar slinger named John Sprott. The three of us tried writing songs but the three of us couldn't make it happen. Mark ended up as an engineer at Don Caldwell Studios and engineered all of the Maines Brothers records. Then he set sail and made asparagus...
