Not sure what to say?

Grew up with Motch in Melbourne, then Atlanta. One of the nicest, happiest, most caring people I've ever known. Always having a good day when you saw him. Often close friends were able to enjoy backstage meetings because of his generosity (always respecting his band's privacy and courtesy), helped teardown many Dregs concerts when roadies were sparse - just an incredible time with him. as a REM'S fan I just want to say thank you micro" for all your music, and your dedication for bring us some magic in our lifes.

I met Microwave around 1983.....and shared many crazy times throughout the REM tours. His glorious spirit lives on.

Microwave,
May you stay forever young,
Geoff.

I am a longtime R.E.M. fan, and hearing this is as sad to me as when Bill left the band, bud more so because the world lost a GREAT person. Microwave, rest easy. You are no longer in pain. That smile and infectious personality will spread throughout Heaven. Go play guitar with Jimi while Janis and Jim sing, marveling at your genius. Get the place ready for us. See you up there!

Never met Microwave, but know of him as one of the extended REM family who was ever-present when my fascination grew. Sad news and my thoughts to friends and family.

Microwave- may the 'gods of yoohoo' speed you on your way. Fond memories of Automatic. Our Prayers are with the folks you left behind.
May you rest in peace.
