MARK ANTHONY PETIX Longtime Southern California journalist Mark Petix had a ready response for those who told him how he was born with a talent for writing. Yeah, Mark would reply, and it only took years of hard work to develop that talent. Mark Anthony Petix, an award-winning writer, whose...

Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of working with Mark for several years. He had a crazy sense of humor and yet could be very compassionate at the same time. I true good guy~

Mark was a kind, wonderful person. Much sympathy to my long-time dear friend Wilma and to his charming wife, Tena. May they find some solace from all his friends and family.

Although I never knew Mark after High School, I attended Northmont, Parkway & Grossmont with him and he was always a very friendly guy. My condolences to his wife, mom and family.

I was so sorry to hear of Mark's death. I worked with Mark at the Times Advocate in the late '80s. Our desks were next to each other. I remember him as a kind soul with an understated but stinging sense of humor. He knew just what to say and when to say it. Although I was older than he, journalism was my second career and I was new to the newsroom. I agonized over every feature I wrote. I'll always remember the time when Mark told the editor that he'd have his story in by deadline (three...

Tena, It seems only yesterday that you got married. My friend Brenda Davis and I helped to decorate your home and backyard for your wedding and time certainly flies. How could it be 17 years ago?
Mark was a special man; may he rest in peace until you join him. God Bless you both.

Dear Tena, You are in my prayers. May God watch over both you and Mark. Lynn McCown

Mrs. Petix, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mark and I were good friends all through school. He always put a smile on my face and could be counted on as a kind and genuine friend. I have been swimming all my life (that is after you taught Mark, me, and the rest of the neighbor kids to swim in your pool) I fondly remember Mark and Steve, think of them often, and thank them for the lives they led that made ours a little better.

Mrs. Petix...you have my deepest sympathy in the passing of Mark. I recall fondly the days of playing baseball with Steve in little league and Mark in Pony as well as attending Parkway and Grossmont together. I pray that God grant you his grace and daily peace in your loss.

With love always, Bill Waltermire

Dear Petix Family, my heart goes out to you, I am Debbie Wendel who went all through school with Mark. I took backyard swim classes at your house too! Mark was such a great guy, Northmont, Parkway and Grossmont memories. I also later in life worked in LA with Mark's Aunt Connie, small world and kept in touch with the Petix's that way, RIP Mark, Steve, Connie...my thoughts are with you. Debbie
