Compassion Funeral Service, LLC Obituary

Mark Pfeil, a devoted husband, father, and “Papa”, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on September 20, 2023 after a courageous battle with Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer. Mark cherished Kathy, his wife of over 35 years; his son Jordan and daughter in law Katherine; his daughter Katie and son in law Ryan and two grandchildren Callahan and Emmy. Mark is survived by his three brothers Chris Pfeil, Michael Pfeil and David Pfeil and sister Kathryn Pfeil. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Pfeil and Jaqueline Pfeil.

Mark was born on September 26, 1956 in Akron, Ohio and made Hilton Head Island his home in 1993. Mark, known locally as “Mr. Squeegee,” was a beloved member of the community and an entrepreneur at heart. He helped build and run Mr. Squeegee Window Cleaning and Pressure Washing for nearly 30 years. Mark had an amazing work ethic and truly loved working with his son, father in law and the entire the Mr. Squeegee team. He took much pride in helping beautify not only his clients’ homes, but also the community at large through his charity and donation work.

Mark loved spending time outdoors and with his family. He was a proud grandfather, “Papa”, to Emmy and Callahan who brought so much joy and laughter to his heart.

Those who met Mark will always remember his smile and witty sense a humor, as well as his strong work ethic, generous and compassionate spirit, and appreciation for the simple things in life. He will have a lasting impact on those who were so fortunate to have known him. Even though Mark is no longer physically with, his laugh and smile will always hold a special place in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Skull Creek Boathouse Pavilion on Saturday, October 7th from 11:30 am- 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as we are so grateful for the entire MUSC oncology team and nursing staff’s wonderful care throughout Mark’s journey.

Not sure what to say?

I met Mark in Junior High when all the elementary schools came together. He was an all around great guy

We are so sad to hear of Mark's passing. He was a lovely man who we always enjoyed chatting with when he & his crew arrived to clean windows. Our thoughts are with Jordan & all his family.

Dear Kathy, Katie, Jordan and family, Our deepest sympathy, we were so very sorry to hear this, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. All the years..... dealing with Mark, then Jordan, the smile, the giggling laugh when we´d talk about our children growing up, Mark will be missed
