Wichmann Funeral Home - Laemmrich Chapel Obituary

Mark "Logger" PoehlsMark left us on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. The mighty limb of an old oak sent our beloved logger home to the Lord. Mark was 56 years old, an extraordinary 112 in "logger years." Born February 23, 1958 to Walter and Dolores (Schleis) Poehls of Algoma, Mark grew up in St. Paul,...

Not sure what to say?

I love you grandpa and I always will. Tristan Poehls grandson.

We saw Mark every fall for the last 15 years when he would deliver our family's winter supply of firewood. We'd always arrange the delivery for the end of the day, so my wife and I could enjoy a beer or two with Mark on the back deck. We will miss his ready smile and philosophical musings on life and the world.

Our sympathies for your family's loss.

Lori and family-and cousins,
What a beautiful tribute for an honorable man, loved by many, respected by all. Til we meet again. May God give you strength and peace. Thank you for all the work for the reunion. We are all humbled and grateful. cousin barb

We knew Mark as a robust man who always had a lust for life. Our hearts go out to Lori and his sons. He leaves behind an incredible legacy for his sons and his grandchildren. He will always be a part of them.

Dear Poehls family,
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I will be keeping Mark and all of you in my prayers. It's very sad to lose someone in your life but to lose them so young in life has more of a sting to it. It sounds as thought Mark lived life to it's fullest and loved greatly, sounds like a very rich man to me.

I am so sorry for your loss. All of you are in my prayers!

So sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I was a classmate of Mark's at Freedom. Although I have not seen him for years I remember what a great guy he was. Always friendy to everyone with a great smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My condolences to the family, I remember Mark from high school, he always had a smile for everyone.

I was saddened to read in the paper of Mark's tragic end. For the past dozen years or so I have been one of Mark's customers. Though I would only see him once a year when he made his delivery, I looked forward to chatting with him. Mark impressed me with his integrity and honesty. So very sorry for your loss and please know that you are in my prayers.
