Remembering The Great Ash Tour when we took dads ashes to the midwest

I only now heard of Mark's passing. My most sincere condolences to his family. I met Mark years ago in 1983 in Dallas. Even bought a '63 ES335 from him when he owned Charlie's. A great guy and always found time for me. Truly the "King of Tone". Much thanks for all you did, Mark. We'll play the blues together in the hereafter. - Mic

Mark in high school

Mark: One of my best friend in childhood's big handsome brother, talented musician that my husband Mack appreciated and is in Heaven with Mark now and both playing awesome music, and an all-around good man. We will see you again and listen to your talent in music in Heaven, Mark.

Best, and love,

Ella Joplin Hood

I ONLY MET HIM A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT HE HAD COOL WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM. SAD FOR HIS FAMILY.

Some of the best memories of my life were with Mark. I visited our homes today! I lived on Colony and Mark on Mayflower. Sis Devon attended Plymouth Park Elementary in 5th and 6th grade with me. She made a comment back then that I reminded me of her Brother Mark due to our eyes and eyebrows were similar and I took that as a great compliment.I used to go hear Mark and his band in their carport on Mayflower. I told Mark several years back that he played SURF music and he said NO! I said you are...

I only wish I had known him personally. From the outpouring of love & cool stories, I know I missed out on someone special. I do remember going with Devon & Jon to hear him play in Dallas (late 90's?). What a fun time ... we were out of our chairs by the end of the night, just enjoyin' the good sound he liked to put out there. You're already sorely missed Mark but you got the hard part over, nothing but cool reunions in your future. God bless.

He was a true friend and gentleman. Proud to call him a dear friend. Our our love to Mary!
