Not sure what to say?

I didn´t know Mark but I worked at Chucks Steak House in La Jolla in the 1970s. It is forever etched in my my mind and heart as a truly special place. Excellent food, atmosphere, and best live music. A band called Zzaj, jazz spelled backwards, was absolutely spectacular. Bless Mark for creating such a perfect place. Condolences to his family. End of an era. God bless.

To the Hunk of my Bunk... In 10 days it will be one year since you went away. There isn´t a day that goes by that I do not think of you, feeling the love I have and will always have for you my sweet, sweet man. I´m not sure it´ll get easier. I´m hoping... I´m a little stuck and I need to keep moving. You would expect that. I expect that but it´s difficult. I have so many wonderful memories. We had a great life together. I am forever grateful for the love you showed me and the life we...

Dearest Mark, I will always be warmed by your memory. Your love and commitment to the beat of your heart, Faye, was beautiful to witness. Your smile was the brightest star in any room your presence stood. I am truly blessed to have known you. We will keep an eye on Faye while you watch from above! Much Love, Deanna & Betsy.

Mark Richert was a man's man. Arriving in California in 1959, he built the first California Chuck's Steak House. After opening 3rd Street in L.A., Westwood, and Marina Del Rey, moved to La Jolla in 1963. He never left his beloved La Jolla. Chucks Steak House became a favorite on Proscpect street for thirty years. Mark was a Instrumented multi-engine pilot and owned and orperated 17 Red Baron Steak Houses. He led through example of honesty and hard work. He will be missed by many who he...

What great memories come flooding back regarding my lifelong mentor and friend. Mark helped shape my life and beliefs by his example and I feel so fortunate to have had the advantage of sharing time on earth with him.

I had the pleasure of making a few sailboat trips with Mark and his buddy Curt Slater. Two of the best people to be with on a sailboat. Also, I had the pleasure to work a little with Mark. Great person, could fix anything. A legend among men !

Mark was my long-time handyman. He brightened my life with his big smile and cheeky comments. I will miss him very much.

Mark was one of the best men I have ever met. I appreciate the time I spent with him.

Mark was a hard working, friendly and fun loving man who could "fix anything". It was a real pleasure to have known him. With deepest sympathy.
