Not sure what to say?

He was a wonderful football coach and I still remember him giving me credit for a good game against Coopersville back in 1983. It was my proudest football moment and it gave me a lot of confidence. He made it about the players and cared about us as people. I found out today about his passing. I´m so sad because I have always been thankful for the role he played in building me up.

One of my favorite coaches. Humble, kind and understanding. His approach was a key in a person's development allowing a person to develop his or her autonomy. Thank you Coach!

May Mark’s family find comfort in the wonderful memories and community that cherished Mark as a coach, teacher, friend and mentor. He was a blessed man.

People like Mark are true treasures and rare to find in the world today. He was genuine, kind and had a such a sweet soul.
I was privileged to work with Mark at Bushnell Elementary My Kindergarten students looked up to him.....literally. They loved Mr. Russell.
Andy and Nancy, I am so sorry for your sadness. You have my heartfelt sympathy.

I am very sad to hear this news's. My heart goes out to Nancy and Family. Prayers during this difficult time.

Lowell lost a great one. Mark will be greatly missed. I appreciated how kind he was and for the impact he had on our students and in our community. My prayers go out to his family.

I’m so sad and overwhelmed by this news that I don’t really know what to say.
I first met him through the football program but later did business with him for something in his house and found Mark to be a gentle giant.
The community at large house him and his family a debt of honor and gratitude for all of the selfless effort and work you put into our children.
He will truly be missed.

Coach Russell will be missed. I still can remember when he pulled me out of driver training to let me know I would be playing varsity football as a sophomore.

He was always supportive on and off the field, and will be missed. My heart goes out to his family.
