Not sure what to say?

I served with Mark in 2/6. I never met the family, but I used to ride with Mark to Wytheville Virginia where he would drop me off on a long weekend and pick me back up on the way back to base. I was proud to have him as a friend and to have had the honor of serving with him. I just found out tonight what had happened. I have lost contact with almost everyone from the Marines and it saddens me to deeply to learn of Mark's passing. I will never forget you.

Forgot to mention that we also sent about 30 of our campaign Hockey patches to the Mentor High School Hockey Team. We understand that US Marine Sergeant Smykowski played hockey for that team.

Hello,

To the family and friends of Sgt. Mark T. Smykowski:
Please accept my remembrance of Mark on the anniversary of his passing and know that he will never be forgotten.

Mark, I hope you are looking down on us and smiling today for all your work and the work of all your fellow service men and women have paid off last week. You died for your country and we are one step closer to a peaceful nation. Thank you for your time in the service and know that we are all thinking about you today.

I once knew a man tried and true
I once had friend, and was fortunate to
A colder place this earth has become
Without my comrade.

We live in a world of human waste and my only condolence is that you have to endure no more of it. I think of you bro, all the time, and I know God remembers you. He favors the strong he favors the true.

John 15:13 and Semper Fi
I'll see you soon.
