Mark K. Tedrow, 62, of Wind Ridge, lost a long and courageous battle with cancer in his home Saturday, September 24, 2016, surrounded by his family.
Born March 26, 1954, he was a son of the late Robert Kenneth and Betty Jane Riggle Tedrow.
He graduated in 1972 from West Greene High School. He was employed by Consol Energy as a coal miner and had 37 years in the coal mining industry. He was a beef farmer and a member of American Angus Association. He was also a member of Seven Hills Church of Christ in Cameron, W.Va.
He was completely devoted to his wife, sons and grandchildren. He was a simple and private man who was loved so deeply by his family. He enjoyed farming with his son Dirk and sports with his son Chet. The joy that came over him when his grandchildren simply walked into the room cannot be described.
When he smiled, you couldn't stop yourself from following. He may have appeared rough around the edges to some. For those who were blessed, he showed the polished refinement and beauty within.
He will continue to be the heart of his family, as he will be missed and honored with every passing day.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Jonnie Lynn Lucey Tedrow; his two sons, Chet (Melissa J.) Tedrow and Dirk (Melissa R.) Tedrow, both of Wind Ridge; six sisters, Connie Schoeller, Margeane Sheard, Joyce Tedrow, Judy Frye, Debbie Tedrow and Vickie Kayko; five brothers, William Tedrow, Randy Tedrow, Jerry Tedrow, K. Fred Tedrow and Gary "Boo" Tedrow; four grandchildren, Elijah Ezekiel, Gabrielle and Augustus Tedrow; mother-in-law June Lucey; three sisters-in-law, Margie Lucey, Darlea Lucey and Kathleen McCracken; five brothers-in-law, Mark, Jack, Daniel, Patrick and Joseph Lucey; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his four brothers, Robert, Charles, Patrick and Douglas J. Tedrow; his father-in-law, John V. Lucey; and sister-in-law Amy Lucey.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, at Seven Hills Church of Christ, 10 Adaline Avenue, Cameron, WV 26033, with Larry Dalesio officiating. Interment will follow at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo Township.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
