Not sure what to say?

I was fortunate to have Dr. Temple as a professor twice at Illinois state. He was one of the best professors I had. I'm sad to learn that you are gone but, he made such a great impact on his students. He encouraged me to become a better student through my toughest times I'll never forget his words of encouragement. He was one of a kind.

I had Dr. Temple for a few classes when he was at Texas Tech in the mid 90's and I wish I had a few more with him. It was late in my college career and until then I had never had a teacher or professor that was as passionate about the subject matter as Dr. Temple. I was not a person that looked forward to going to class much but I wouldn't miss one of Dr. Temple's lectures. I was always amazed at the way he bonded with the students and the great conversations he would start with the class and...

Mark was the first person I met at an ASHA conference, he was the volunteer coordinator when I attended as a student volunteer. His encouragement and humor is one of the reasons I grew so passionate about ASHA, and I'm still at it 16 years later. Over the years, I've had the honor of working with Mark on several projects or committees, he was a dedicated and thoughtful leader. For me, seeing Mark and catching up has long been one of my favorite parts of attending an ASHA conference. His...

Mark was a spark that ignited many professionals and students to speak truth to power and to advocate for health education and social justice. We will miss him greatly and wish him peace.

Dr. Temple was my first professor in the Health Education program at ISU. I remember how excited I was to attend his class each week. He put me on my path in the field of public health. I still remember to this day when he asked us if we knew what "CDC" stood for. I am forever grateful to him for helping me find a passionate field of work. He was such a kind and wonderful person, and I will forever thank him for all he did for me. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. He will be...

May the Source of peace be with all who mourn.

Mark, may you find peace and comfort. Sorrow can be unbreakable . . . special memories will help your loved ones and friend cope. Remembering you today and always.

Dr. Temple always made me feel so welcome in class. I switched my major from criminal justice to community health late into my college career, and I wasn't sure of my decision at first. Temple was my first professor in health, and he made me feel confident I made the right choice. He was always so understanding of my Military obligations and I could tell he was proud of me. He will be missed by so many.
