Not sure what to say?

My friendship with Mark occured at Willamette University as classmates and fraternity pledges. Our sympathies to Mark's family and all those who knew him. I know he will be greatly missed.

My condolences to the family over the loss of Mark. He and I were class mates and fraternity brothers at Willamette U. During one year at WU he and I roomed at the same private home off campus. Although we did not maintain contact after graduation, one never forgets the close classmates. He was a serious student, always helpful and pleasant to be with. I am certain he will be missed.

Mark was a pleasure to be with, a learned and well spoken man. I am proud to have worked with and for him, and know he will be missed by many. To all of those he worked with in the hardware industry, and those with whom he served on boards, to his family and friends all, you have my condolences and best wishes.

Mark and I go back 40years, meeting through our professions at NBH. He and Melody were a good team both in marriage and business, now both are gone, I will miss this connection.
I also shared a birthdays with Mark
being born on the 14th. We celebrated this occasion in London one year, the last time was here 2 years ago. Mark showed signs of his illness then but was very stoic
and hopeful that he would make a good recovery. Alas, not to be.
I have lost a good friend. My...

I was sorry to learn of Mark's passing. We were fraterrnity brothers together at Willamette. At the time I was also one of Dr. Lovell's students, but did not take a fancy to history until many years later. I had the pleasure of sharing the bus ride to the Bergstrom winery with Mark, not long after Melody's death, during one of our recent class reunions on the campus. We will miss Mark, such a gentleman and scholar.

I met Mark when I was fortunate to be invited to the seminars at Ivan Lovells home in Salem while my husband, Larry Chandos was a student at Willamette. We met Melody at the DelCoronado in California, with Mark in full Navy uniform. We enjoyed their friendship over many years. Mark was a kind and gracious gentleman. My sympathy to all the friends and families who will miss him greatly.

My memories of Mark are limited to our days together at Willamette U. He was a gentleman respected by all. He shall be missed by all. God's blessings on his family in this time of loss.

I am so sorry to learn of Mark's passing. I knew him through Melody, with whom I went to Mills College. They were a dear devoted couple, and their separation is no more. Prayers to the family.

I first met Mark when I joined the Willamette University Board of Trustees several years ago. I greatly appreciated his gentle and welcoming manner along with his obvious love for the University. In spite of his illness, Mark was always upbeat and it was my good fortune to have known him.
