Mark Thompson

East Andover, NH - Mark E. Thompson, 76, Dad, Grampa, Friend, passed away peacefully at the Concord Hospital on November 15, 2024 with his family, friends and companion at his side.

Mark was raised and lived in East Andover throughout his lifetime. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1966. He married the love of his life, Sandra Rayno, of Franklin. Mark and Sandra had three sons and they have married and had families.

Mark started his own business, Mark E. Thompson Excavating Inc., and was soul owner and operator for 57 years! He was such a hard working, dedicated man who took pride in all his work! He worked right up until the last week of his life.

Mark was a volunteer on the East Andover Fire Dept. One of Mark's remarkable stories is that he was the longest standing elected road agent for Andover. He enjoyed spending time at his home on Highland Lake with family and friends either sitting on his deck visiting or taking a putt on his boat around the lake. He also enjoyed going to the ocean. In winter months Mark would enjoy going to his Florida home.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alan Thompson and Florence (Hall) Thompson and siblings, Madelyn Baker, Jane Currier and John Thompson. Mark is survived by his sister, Carolyn (Thompson) Currier of Hampstead, NH; longtime companion, Nancy (Bernie) Rondeau; sons, John "Tiny" (Christine Vigue) Thompson, James "Jim" Thompson and Jerry Thompson all of East Andover, NH; grandchildren, Jaime (Matt) Jablonski, Jeremy "JJ" Thompson, Jason "Tiggie" (Chelsea Lafond) Thompson, India Thompson (fiance Erik Kane), Chelsea (Kenny) Avery, Alan Thompson and Kathryn Thompson; great grandchildren, Gunner, Ashlyn, Weslee, Gracie, Billy, Able, Zoey and Teddy; nieces, nephews, Godchild and friends.

There will be no calling hours. There will be a celebration of Mark's life at Thompson Field from 12:00-3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 24, 2024 directly across from Lake View Cemetery, East Andover, NH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Fire Department, P.O. Box 61, Andover, NH 03216.

Not sure what to say?

Our neighbor and close friend, is loved throughout our family, will be missed

I was married to Mark's son Jim and with him for 10 years. Mark and Sandy treated me like their own. I have so many great memories of "Camp" and being part of the Thompson family all through the 90's. Mark was the real deal and told it like it was, no holes barred. I know he's at peace now and is reunited with Sandy. I will never forget you Dad and may you RIP.

I am so sorry for your loss!!
My thoughts are with you all.

The FHS class of '66 is a lot less fun now. He and Sandy were one of our beautiful class love stories. They continued a long line of Thompsons and no one will ever forget them. Peace now, Mark.

We were very sad to learn of Mark's passing . Praying that God's love would enfold, comfort and carry you through this valley of grief and loss. May you find comfort in the shared stories and memories of family and friends.

Thoughts and prayers to your family. We will miss seeing Mark cruise around Highland but will think of him when we are there.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. We remember your family from when we had Bowie's market. So sorry for your loss

We shared many goods times in the past with Mark. He will be dearly missed.
Our condolences to the family .
Love Skuffy and Gail ♥

Sorry for your loss. Mark was a good guy and classmate. We had a lot of laughs during our time at FHS. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
