Dear Walters Family,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of your loss. I fondly remember Mark from early in my teaching career at Cooper, and his quick wit came to my mind immediately. Please know that my warm thoughts are with you. Very sincerely,

The first thing that struck me about Mark when we first met was his infectious laugh. I will never forget it and it still makes me smile to think about it. I worked with Mark at KLA about 2 years ago. I appreciate the respect that Mark gave to me and his team...he would always seem to take my word on something without question, even if I was wrong (which was seldom :-))but was honest enough to correct my mistakes and let me know in the most gracious way. He would often call me for advice when...

I first met mark during wrestling practice back in 1981 at BG. Mark and I challenged for the same weight class throughout most of our high school years and became very close. It was obvious that Mark was a special person as he was always willing to help someone out. He would give what ever it was that someone needed. Hearing some of the stories lately of his generosities makes me feel very honored to have known him. I racall a freestyle tournament we were both in at the same weight class. We...

Mark was my friend and there were times that he could make me so mad !! But he always had a way of makeing me smile :) I will always remember how when my car was broke down during the holidays and I was feeling down because everyone was going to be with family,Mark asked me what my plans were. I told him I was carless he immediately handed me the keys to his car and said take me to the airport and you can use my car! Just like that he solved my problem
* Mark you will always be in my...

To Mark's Family,

Knowing the shock that we suffer out here in California I cannot imagine the suffering you face now over the loss of such a great son & brother. Mark was well liked and is dearly missed. We still can't believe he's gone.

Sincere condolences,

Matthew Schafle

Dear Barb & family,
I can not imagine the pain of losing a son but I am sure it feels unbearable.

Just from reading the entries in this guest book, Mark was an exceptional young man.

We will have special prayers said for you all and Mark at the Poor Clare Monastery in Bloomington that your pain and sorrow will be eased.
Sincerely,
Katy & Don Goethals (Julie Houp's parents)

I don't even remember when I first met Mark on the team, but I can never forget his smile and his voice. In the time that I've known him, he has truly touched my life. It was a great pleasure and an honor to work with him.

To his family - although I, like many of his co-workers, cannot make the trip to Illinois, we share in your grief and send our sincerest sympathy. You are in our prayers. God bless.

Barb and family, My deepest sympathy goes out to you. Know that you're in my prayers. I didn't know Mark, but from the notes I've read in this guestbook, he must truly have been an amazing person. May you find comfort from those who knew and loved him.
