Not sure what to say?

Growing up at Beth Shalom, I waited each year for Mark's rendition of Eil Nora Alilah during N'eilah on Yom Kippur. It was one of the highlights of Yom Kippur for me. I think of him at that moment in the service to this day. No one chants it in quite his melody (I sing it to myself), which remains my favorite to this day. Mark shared his appreciation of the greater Jewish world at a critical time for me. He was kind and gracious, and I was glad to know him as an elder in the congregation....

Dear Sarah, Becca, and Michaela, I send my warmest condolences on the passing of your father. I have fond memories of him playing his oboe in my parents' living room from my earliest days, and putting up with us tweens and teens during the Hebrew school car pool. He was always warm, approachable, and kind. I know this period is so difficult and I hope your memories will help you through. Warmly, Deborah Barkun (Phila, PA)

In loving memory of a wonderful person. Prof. Watkins was one of my favorite Math professors I worked with in the Math Department. His kindness, respect and smiles to the staff will always be remembered. Rest in peace you have given so much to so many. Carolyn (CJ) Sabloski

Dear Brenda, I am so sorry to learn of Mark´s passing. I must tell you that just in the past week I was suddenly thinking of Mark, and of our very nice time together in Baltimore not very many years ago, and had already begun to search for Mark´s e-mail (I could not find it . . ) in hopes of sending greetings to you both. I´m so sorry that I was late - it was so good to get together again with a good friend from (long-ago) high school days. I hope that all goes as well as possible...

With my deepest condolences, Len Levy
