MARK C. WELCH

You hold a special place in my heart forever.

Mark use to write letters to me to tell about his time CA. He would talk about his ferrets. I loved hearing from him. When he came home on leave he would stop by to say hello and have a beer with my husband. Mark was an amazing person. We loved him.

I am so sorry about the loss of your son. John always commented on how proud you were of him and how he served our country. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

I would like to add my condolences as a fellow member of HMM-364. I was a part of the original squadron when it was formed in 1962. Mark will always be with us and a part of our proud history.

I was deeply saddened when I heard of Mark's passing. I had the privilege of serving with Mark while in the Marine Corps; we flew together many times, including when our helicopter squadron evacuated the American embassy in Albania. I was also the one who recommended the call sign 'Otter' for Mark. I remember him as always having a calm and uplifting way about him, and he was always there when I needed him.
