Markley Julia Lumpkins

Aunt Markley was my mother´s first cousin. I love visiting the South West and have very fond memories of her adobe house and the dogs and cats. When our son was born in 2001 much to our surprise and delight, she sent us a big box of many baby flannel blankets and washcloths all hand stitched. She also sent along some amazing sketches she did of New Mexican animals for the kids. Very special indeed. Love Margaret Harrison, Canada

This is so sad. Ms. Lumpkins was my PE teacher and swim coach. She was amazing. Strict but yet very respected. She nicknamed me "worm" because of my last name, Grubbs. Thanks for the great year at Mid High.

My deepest Sympathy May God heal your heart and give you good memories of Ms. Lumpkins. She was my brat as she called herself and very much loved.

Markley was my teacher,my friend and neighbor . I was a Sr. At S.F.H.S. And I was T. A. in her P.E. class . Cause it was for boys and girls. And it was the time of the year to teach swimming. And I told her that I didn't know how to swim . And she said, well it's time to l And she tought me the breast stroke and how to float. And the summer of1979. I enlisted into the USMC.And I didn't know that you needed to know how to swim. And when my Platoon got to the water...
