Not sure what to say?

My school librarian, neighbor across the street, a good friend to my mother, and a familiar presence throughout my childhood. Her love of books and learning had a lasting impact on me - she nurtured my curiosity, helped me with homework, and, in many ways, set me on a path that led to higher education as a first-generation college student. I´ll always remember her energy, her sharp wit, and her passion for the things she loved - from libraries to bowling to cheering on the Red Sox. I´m...

My condolences to the family. My heart is broken that I was unable to meet her before she passed. I recently found out that we were related by marriage. I will cherish our talks forever. Sending love and prayers

My sympathy to Marlene's family. I met Marlene a few years ago when I joined a bowling league in Southampton. I just loved her matter of fact ways, her sense of humor, and her perseverance through this last year. I really admired her and will always miss her. Sincerely, Deb

So sorry to hear this, Sue. To this day I think about your mom coaching us as pre-teen girls in softball at the park near your home (was it Dana Park?) and calling me "Babs"! She was a gem.

Miss you so much Marlene. You were the most positive, kind, and inspiring person I knew. You always said it like it was. We had so many laughs. I´ll even miss you being upset with me for not always paying attention at bowling. lol. Rest in peace Marlene

Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. I feel like I have known your mom forever! She always kept us in line and made sure we knew the batting order for our Chicopee Women´s softball. She came prepared with 2-3 sharp pencils ready to go. Additionally as I joined the Friends of the Library she was organized and kept us on task as our secretary. She was our golf tournament HOLE 3 spotter and was willing to step up and do what she we needed. She will be missed

Susan,my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. She was a special person and will always be remembered.

Sue Please accept my sincerest condolences on the passing of your mom. May your memories of her sustain you this difficult time. Sincerely Mike Thompson

I knew Marlene for many years in the Chicopee Parent Teacher Council, then later as a Library Media Technician in the Chicopee School Department. She will be missed.
