Marlene Hatch Moynihan, 44, of Sunnyside Drive, Plainville, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of Patrick Francis Moynihan to whom she was married in May 2008.

Born in Milton, Massachusetts on December 27, 1965, she was a daughter of Gloria N. (Carey) Hatch of West Falmouth and the late Malcolm C. Hatch, Sr. She was a 1984 graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Kingston and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the former Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1988.

Mrs. Moynihan resided in Plainville since January 2001 having moved to the community from Canton where she lived for five years. Previously, she was a longtime resident of Hanover.

She was employed as a tax preparer for Jackson-Hewitt in Plainville for the past three years.

Mrs. Moynihan enjoyed collecting knickknacks and treasured the time spent with her family particularly her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband of almost two years and her mother, she leaves her husband’s children: Tara Moynihan of Nelson, New Hampshire; Carla Moynihan of Keene, New Hampshire and Melanie Moynihan of Keene, New Hampshire; four step grandchildren; her siblings: Deborah Aducci of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Greg J. Hatch of North Attleboro; John W. Hatch of Plymouth; Carolyn A. Gould of Bournedale and Jeffrey J. Hatch of Rockland; many nieces, nephews , aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.

She was the sister of the late Malcolm C. “Chuckie” Hatch, Jr. who died in 1994.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home – the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM following visitation from the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home – the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Hanover.

I am shocked and so sad to hear of Marlene's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Marlene and I were childhood friends - I'll always remember her spirit, determination, and infectious laughter.

A great co-worker at Motorola and friend - there and after-there. She was lively, fun to be with, always greeted you with a smile – she was one of my most favorite ‘computer user’ at Mot because when she had a ‘problem’, we could ‘kill’ some time with idle chitchat as I took a little longer to work on her system! After we got laid off, we still kept in touch. Frequently having three way conversations with my wife Marilynn – like for an hour-ish! And sometimes we all met at ‘her’ local pub...
