Marley is survived by his wife Melonnie, daughters Tami Martin-Sun, Kelly Scandlyn, Marla Jordan, Valerie Johnson, and Barbara Martin. He is also survived by his brothers Jerry, Virgil, and Glenn and his sister Margie. Marley is also survived by his many grandchildren; Daniel, Kendall, Rachel, Chelsea, Derek, Kayla, Deanna, Natasha, Sabrina, and last but not least, Karley. Through an extended family by love, Marley also leaves behind three sons, Dax Simonelli, Scott Carter, Stuart Carter, five daughters, Amanda Simonelli, Susan Martin, Pam Bushue, Tracie Anderson, lLslie Hardy; twelve grandchildren, Ava, Claire, Kelli, Matthew, Alex, Eric, Lindsay, Jennifer, Rian, Melissa, Constance, Jason; and four great-grandchildren, Devon, Triston, Hailey and Hayden. Marley was born on October 26, 1933 in Oregon City, Oregon and grew up in various Oregon cities. After a stint in the US Army, while working as an electrical lineman on a job in Burns, Oregon, Marley met the first love of his life, Karen Lee Sherman. They were married August 23rd, 1958 in a small chapel in Burns. Marley's work as a lineman moved the family to many different states throughout the years including all over Oregon and Washington, New Jersey, Arizona and Indiana until they finally settled in Tigard, Oregon in 1975. While working for Power City Electric he found himself in North Slope, Alaska working alongside the infamous Alaska pipeline. he also worked for a time in Saudi Arabia and tried to get the family to move there. Karen said "NO!" but she kept the home fires burning. He then bought out Power City and based the business in Tigard. Later he sold that business and started International Line Builders and Highline Equipment which were both very successful. In 1997 Marley sold both businesses but continued to run them until his retirement in 2000. Marley was also president for many years of the Northwest Line a chapter NECA (National Electric Contractors Association). He also dabbled in onion farming, gold mining, wineries, and Christmas trees and helicopter flying without a license but we try not to discuss that. (Smiley face) After retiring, Marley and Karen became snowbirds, spending the cold, wet winter months in Palm Springs and living the good life. After Karen's death November 17th, 2001, Marley was fortunate enough to find the second love of his life, Lonnie, also known as Mimah by their many grandchildren. they were married on September 25th, 2004. Marley and Lonnie continued the snowbird tradition by purchasing a home in Rancho Mirage and most recently, Indio, California. When he wasn't enjoying time with his vast family, Marley's favorite times were spent golfing, hunting, fishing, and river boating and whooping it up with his "cronies." He loved spending time with and entertaining family and friends at his beloved place on the Brownlee Reservoir where much of that hunting, fishing and boating was done. Marley touched many lives. He had a great sense of humor and a very giving soul and was well loved and respected by all he came into contact with as proven by the many, many family and friends who will sorely miss him.
