Marlon was a former student of mine and a very good friend. He was a super human being. I was always proud of him. We frequently shared lunch together to talk about anything from education to sports. I miss him.

I just found out. Marlon was a friend of mine. I taught him at UAB, but we never thought about that part of our relationship. I am so sorry for the family, I just cannot believe this. I never cry, but I am crying now. God bless you all.

Marlon, you fulfilled your destiny here on this Earth. God was pleased with your service and has now called you home to rest. Well done, thy good and faithful servant. Love Shonah Stallworth and Family

Dear family, I´m so sorry for your loss. I am praying for you all. May God give you comfort during this very difficult time. Please know that your loved one is safe in God´s memory (Proverbs 14:14,15). Just as God brought his son Jesus Christ back to life, he will do the same for your loved as he has promised.

Praying for comfort to the family. Marlin was my oldest God child. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning!

I can still remember the first day I met Dortch. A new teacher so quiet and ready to help the students in his class. So much changed from then to now. He was still quiet but not as much, and he could leave you in tears laughing. He became such a great teacher, admin., and friend. He loved the students and did so much for the school. I´m really going to miss seeing him walking around the school, getting into my snacks, just talking (sports and fishing), and leaving me notes on my board. I...
