Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Obituary

Born February 3rd 1964, in Cowley County Kansas, Arkansas City, Kansas. The family moved to Midland from Kansas when Marsha was one year old. She grew up in Midland and never left. Marsha graduated from Midland High School in 1982 and attended Midland College for a short while. She immediately went to work after graduation. Marsha is most known for working 13 years at the Midland County Tax Office as a Tax Deputy. In 1996 she ran for Election, for County Tax Assessor/Collector of Midland County. She also worked for the Midland County Central Appraisal District and South Plains Mortgage Company where she was a Loan Processor. Marsha was a dedicated hard worker, always went above her call of duty. She was loved by her customers and always had a smile. Marsha also worked at other various fun jobs. As Manager of Friendze, her staff and herself made 10,000 angel pins for the victims and the families of the Paducah, Kentucky High School shootings in 1997. She also made angel birthstone pins for the new mothers at the hospital.

Marsha married the love of her life, Danny R. Sullivan, September 1, 2001, accepted Danny’s children as her very own, adopted Danny’s parents after Marsha’s had passed. Marsha and her husband loved each other so much, ate lunch and supper with each other every day. Marsha could not wait to hear her husband’s voice every day to let her know he was on his way home from work.

Marsha was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church. She started riding the Late Earl Brinlee’s bus with her sister Marilyn at age 4. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 13, when Life Action Singers came to Kelview Heights for a revival. Marsha loved going to church camp every year while she was in Junior High and High School.

She was a member of the American Diabetes Association and former member of Make-A-Wish Foundation. Marsha loved animals, especially monkeys and dogs and always wanted to rescue every stray she could. Some of her hobbies included-planting flowers, sewing, cooking, entertaining, decorating, cross stitching and crocheting.

Marsha loved spending time with family and friends. Marsha never had any biological children of her own, though they tried but had a miscarriage in 2006. Marsha loved her step-children as her own. Marsha and her husband enjoyed being foster parents to Mallory and Cheyenne Whipkey. Cheyenne accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at Kelview Heights Baptist Church while she was living with Marsha and Danny. Jesus Christ was the center of Marsha’s life and she tried to be a witness where ever she went. Marsha loved making people laugh, she tried being a peacemaker where ever she went. Marsha loved watching Little House on the Prairie, The Walton’s, I Love Lucy, Leave It to Beaver to name a few, movies based on scripture, and true event war movies. Her favorite football teams were the Midland High Bulldogs and the Minnesota Vikings. Marsha even like watching the Super Bowl except when it fell on her birthday. There was never a boring moment around Marsha, there was always something going on in her life. She was fun to be around, always willing to help someone when she could. She never met a stranger and loved people.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley K. Smith and Janie Eveline (Still) Smith, her brother Toby J. Smith and her unborn child.
