I was sad to hear about Mr. Blackwell's passing. I worked for him for 10 years in the 70's. He was quite a character. I have such fond memories of him. Especially him gauging how fast the cane grew from the morning to the afternoon, outside his office. I live in Baton Rouge and had lost touch for many years until about 3 or 4 months ago when I located his phone number and gave him a call. I'm so happy I was able to talk to him one last time.
