Funeral service for Marshall J. Bryan, 76, of Hartselle will be today, September 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Redmond officiating. Burial will be in Hartselle Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bryan died on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born August 13, 1937, in Morgan County to Jesse Lee Bryan and Hassie Lorene Oden Bryan. Mr. Bryan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartselle, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and an usher.
He loved gardening and Alabama football. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wendell Bryan and Orville Bryan.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sherry Vest Bryan; one daughter, Kim Bryan Smith (Jeff) of Priceville; four brothers, Levonis Bryan of Decatur, Alfred Bryan (Linda) and Billy Bryan (Patria), both of Falkville, and Keith Bryan (Becky) of Eva; four sisters, Dean Nelson of Falkville, Peggy Nelson (Brownie) of Athens, Loy Jones (Ron) of Birmingham and Reba Pevahouse (Arthur) of Joppa; brother-in-law, Gary D. Vest (Jewel) of Hartselle;
sister-in-law, Sondra Bryan of Eva; two grandchildren, Amber Smith and Austin Smith;
and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Nelson, Kerry Jones, Tim Nelson, Shane Bryan, Brett Bryan and Joshua Bryan.

How very sorry Carole and I were to hear of Marshall's death. As always, I was out of town and could not attend the viewing nor funeral. We loved him very much and will be praying for you and all your family in this sad time.
