Bradley's Funeral Chapel - Chilhowie Obituary

GLADE SPRING, VA

Marshall Brack McGrady, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at his home in Glade Spring, VA.

Marshall was born in Marion, VA to the late James and Olivene Barr McGrady. A proud and dedicated veteran, he faithfully served his country for 22 years across three branches of the military: the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and ultimately retiring as a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. Marshall was a lifetime member of the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667, where he cherished the camaraderie of his fellow veterans. A man of deep faith, he often spent quiet moments reading his Bible and, throughout the years, attended Marion Baptist Church. Known for his warm personality and outgoing spirit, Marshall never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. One of his greatest joys in life was gathering with friends to play Bingo, where his presence will be fondly remembered.

Marshall in preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ronnie McGrady and Robert McGrady; and father & mother-in-law Billy & Wanda Bethea.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Pamela Jean McGrady; children Dorothy McGrady, Jason McGrady, Eddie Thompson & wife Melissa, and Crystal Hines & husband Andre Hines; brothers Steve McGrady, John McGrady, Terry McGrady & wife Janice, and Joe McGrady; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; dear friend Geraldine; along with several nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog Angel.

In keeping with Marshall’s wishes, there will be no public services. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the McGrady Family.
