I'm in the process of preparing a presentation based on a research article written by professor Medoff. I had to add his credentials and happened upon his obituary. My deepest condolences to his family.

Mr. Medoff was a great teacher and his sense of humor was awesome. I got to know Mr. Medoff really well because I would show up early to wait to get into his class, he too would show up early and have to wait for the other class to let out before he could go in. We would talk and I would share the school paper with him to read and he would make humorous comments all the time we were leaning against the CSULB wall...we did this for 2 semesters because I made sure to take his advanced class the...

Today (8/27/16) is the 36th anniversary of my first day of college. My first college class that day was Dr. Medoff's ECON 100 class at Cal State Long Beach. I thought he was a great professor and learned a lot in his class. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining, making us laugh with some of his classic one-liners. I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to your family for your loss.

I was an economics major at UCI from 1986-1990. I was lucky that I discovered Dr Medoff at the start of my freshman year. From the beginning I was hooked. Here was a professor who not only made the material easy to understand, but his great sense of humor made the classes fun. In my four years there, I took all the classes he offered, and to this day he's the only professor I remember by name.
When I graduated, he helped me get my first job by writing a letter of recommendation...

I took several Dr. Medoff's Economic classes when attending UC Irvine from 1985-1989. After I took the first classes from him, I took several more just because I really enjoyed his class (even thought I was an engineering major) - I couldn't think of a better person to teach me about economics.
Saw the obituary in LA Times and I just want to express my condolences. He was special - a great teacher with a wicked sense of humor. Always generous, all the folks I know who took his class...

I've known Shane since 2000 and I consider him a brother. I met Marshall shortly after meeting Shane, I was a struggling MBA student who needed some serious assistance with my macroeconomics course. Dr. Medoff sat with me and helped quite a bit, and always had kind and encouraging words whenever we met afterwards. I was very sad to hear of his passing. I won't ever forget his generosity and kind spirit.
