Marshall was always in the right place at the right time. When Ben, Chuck and I had the kernel of an idea to put some homegrown music on stage and call it ALEWIFE (back in '93?), Marshall took the ball and ran with it. Before we knew it, ALEWIFE was booked for a saturday night at The Galleon; an establishment that he had supported vigorously for years. On May 26th, 1910 at Cambridge University Theodore Roosevelt gave a speech titled "The Condition of Success."
He stated "If a man lives a decent life and does his work fairly and squarely so that those depended upon him and attached to him are better for his having lived, then he is a success..."
Marshall Ricker was one of the most decent, loving and caring human beings I have had the honor to meet.
