Terry and Sonja Waters God is with him now

To Craig and Family, You have my deepest condolences, may god bless your family.

Dear Family,
Our deepest sympathies during this difficult time. Please know that we are here whenever you need us and that you are loved and supported. Peace & Blessings.

To Craig, and the Waters Family,
Your Atlanta friends extended their heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your dear father. We have heard stories about your father over the years and have grown to love him from down south. We admire his strength and determination as a strong black man, father, uncle, brother, husband and friend to all.
You and the Waters' family are in our prayers, and yes precious memories of him will linger on.

As I read through the warm and cogent remarks, mainly from the Waters family, I am reminded of my own appreciation of Marshall. I first came into contact with Mr. Waters in 1980 during the course of my first post-education job in life, as Assistant City Solicitor in Harrisburg. Prior to that time, I had only been generally aware that the largely African American 7th Ward had gone overwhelmingly for Republican Goldwater over the popular Democrat Johnson in 1964; so much so that it became the...

My Uncle Terry and Cousin Stevie said it well. Uncle Marshall was definitely a giant among men.

I will always remember him at our family reunion, sitting in the middle of all who had gathered, and using a paper cup with bottom removed as a megaphone to address the crowd! He would remind of us of our Waters family history every year. Our family reunion is in 2 weeks and I know that I will miss that.

I also remember him sitting outside of the Camp Curtain Y on election day...

TO:Aunt Margaret, Craig, Peggy, Gwenie and Bobby and my entire family,
We will miss Uncle Marshall's presence, his wisdom and knowledge, his ever moving forward attitude. I too benefitted from his efforts and consistency. I was the first African-American as well as the first Black supervisor in the Domestic Relations office in Dauphin County I was also employed in the Emergency management office(first again-Uncle Marshall). My Uncle always took care of famiy and could always find a job...

Uncle Marshall, along with his brothers and sisters, provided the strongest presence and strength of the Waters family to date.

It was Uncle Marshall, at the urgency of my father, Nathan H. Waters, JR, who provided me with great wisdom, political strategy, and insight that remains relevant to this day.

I am blessed and fortunate for having such great community leaders as relatives. Civic participation is the true mark of the Waters family.

Uncle Marshall S. Waters, you...

Well Stephanie said it all about Uncle Marshall. I can remeber him standing on the porch of his house on Cameron street watching my cousin Allen and I get a bag of chips from the Yellow Front and making sure that is all we got. That is when people knew it took a village to raise a child.

He got me my first job and was there when I voted for the first time at Downey Elem and he made dorn sure it better be Republican. He and I had a lot of conversations about voting.

I can still...
