As a starving art student, Bill and Martha took me under their wing and opened my small world to the wonders of art, travel and culture. Martha's wry humor and sharp wit were tempered by her mild-mannered playfulness. I have fond memories of late night card games and dominoes. I am deeply saddened at the news of her passing, and I am forever grateful to her and Bill for helping me grow to manhood.
