Martha Barnett

Martha, Jenny, Susie, Sally, I was a friend of Charlie's in Easton, and spent time at your house. I came to know what a special person your mother was. Her death was a big loss, but what amazing memories we all have. Dave Gordon

Mrs. Barnett was my coach at the Easton YMCA in the late '60's (in the 20 yard pool in the basement!) She encouraged us "girls" before anyone was even thinking of Title IX, and made team swimming fun. She inspired me to continue swimming throughout college, and then into Masters, where I still compete. I have carried over this love of swimming, which she helped develop,into coaching a high school team. Thank you, Mrs. Barnett!

Dear Barnett Family, how sad we were to hear of Martha's passing.
The world has lost someone so very special. Martha was an inspiration to me. I loved being around her, so joyous, loving and caring. She had ever seen a lacrosse game so she acompainied me to my son's game (years ago), up that dreaded Shawnee mountain we went. She loved it. I had the pleasure to have Aunt Martha in my life while in high school and after as Gloria Jean was one of my very good friends. I've been blessed in my life to have been part of Martha's extended family through my marriage to Gloria Jean. I remember well the bus ride I took from my home in Virginia to meet Charles & Martha for the first time. It was during Christmas break at school and Gloria Jean was staying with them.
