Not sure what to say?

I was rereading the story of my birth that my mother Doris Wilson wrote and she talks about her lifelong friend Martha Bland and David her son who was a year older than me. they met in Lebanon Kentucky, were both avid readers and Martha moved off to Pennsylvania but they sent Christmas cards every year. I don´t think she knew about her death until she missed that year´s card. Here´s to long friendships!

My condolences to the Bland family. My the God of all comfort, comfort you. A.E.

MY AUNTIE MARTHA AND JIXIE

My heart is sad today to find in the obits the passing of my auntie Martha J.Bland.
The cards my parents and I just mailed her she will not get as our family had no knowledge of her passing.
My auntie Martha was such a uplifting person to me caring , calling , sending me cards and always thoughts and prayers for our family and I and also her encouragement with emails everyday as I battled cancer.
We would laugh and joke about our black cats her Jixie and my Malibu.

Then as time went on we got to know Martha. I really bonded with her and we shared many special personal life stories.

After our older daughter was diagnosed...

Martha was a wonderful neighbor and friend. She had a heart of gold and always had a welcoming smile and a kind word for everyone. I loved to listen to her stories and hear her contagious laughter. Her sense of humor was wonderful! Always generous in heart and spirit, she often let my daughters use her beautiful yard to practice their hitting and fielding skills for softball. Martha and Tom would often watch the practice and would chuckle at the drama that was sure to follow when things...
