Hawthorne Funeral Home - Mount Vernon Obituary

Martha Christine Branch, a revered mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 9th, 2025 in her home in Concrete, Washington.

Martha was born on April 13th, 1970 in Yakima, Washington. Martha attended Mount Vernon High school, with a graduating year of 1988.

Martha had 3 beloved children. Tyler, 35; Riley, 29; and Thomas, 21; and her 2 prized grandchildren Kayla and Tyler James Jr. She is survived by her long time spouse Robert, and her 6 siblings; Debi, Ruthie, Jim, Teresa, Oscar, and Tony; and grandmother, Edna Cheney.

Martha enjoyed life in every meaning. As a young adult she enjoyed concerts, adventures, and having a good time! She treasured raising children, being involved and making memories. As she phased into becoming a grandparent and life slowed down, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow, watching James play sports and Kayla conquer college. She loved being in nature. There wasn’t many days you wouldn’t be able to find her outside gardening, working on a miscellaneous project, or down at the river hunting for agate rocks.

Martha will be fiercely missed. Please join us in her Celebration of life Friday, January 24th from 2:30 - 5:30 pm at Concrete Community Center in Concrete, WA.

Not sure what to say?

We are glad that we got the privilege of knowing you Martha. You were an amazing woman with a great big, kind heart. I still can't comprehend how this happened to you, it just doesn't seem fair at all. You were too young to be taken and you definitely will be missed by so many people. You were loved by many also. Reast in piece pain and worry free now. Please watch over all of us until we see you again.
Love, Jen and Andy

Martha was such a beautiful soul, with a heart of gold. She was always helping me and the community with whatever she could. She never turned away someone, even if she didn't have the means to, that angel was determined to give her all; heart and soul. She wasn't afraid to tell me when I needed to correct my attitude, I loved her like the sister I always asked God for, yet never received. She was an honest friend, and a great mother, and the whole world doesn't even know how to grip the...

Hay Martha, It was nice spending this afternoon with some of your family and friends-as with you, there was a unique feeling of warmth. You've always held a protected heart felt place with me that others didn't reach. You're a very special spirit and will truly be missed-until we can meet again. We all, were so lucky to have you in our class of 1988.

Martha, she was taken from us to early. She shouldn't of left. It's so hard to even be in concrete or anywhere without her. She made me laugh and cry all at once. She is a beautiful in every way. I am heart broken you are gone. ...love and miss you Martha. Glad I got the opportunity to know you and love you.

I'm going to miss her laugh...No matter what she was laughing. Yes, you are an Angel again and likely responsible for all those weird shooting star clusters flying through the sky now. We'll meet again my friend...look out for us.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
