Not sure what to say?

Dear Sharon and Patsy: Your mother was one of the pleasures of the years (1960s) when our family lived in Hillsboro. Her warmth and her sharing are still remembered. It was she who showed me the mushrooms in Shute Park; she shared her sourdough starter with me; she was active in the new League of Women Voters with us. She was a grand lady. My condolences.
Marjorie (Floren) Columbus

I could go on for the next week or so expounding on what a warm, loving woman Martha was. I had reading difficulties when I was a child and Martha helped me so much. Everyone will miss her. Randy Mueller, Portland, OR

Patsy, Sharon and families,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time. I remember your Mom as a grand lady who guided us along the way to womanhood. May memories of your Mom give you strength as you go forward.

Sharon, Patsy and Family,
We were saddened to learn of Martha's passing in The Oregonian today. We would love to join you to celebrate her life but unfortunately we can not make it.

We both treasured both your parents and it was always a delight to visit their home and be entertained by Martha's cooking and fresh items from her garden. She was an intelligent, talented and beautiful person inside and out and she will be greatly missed by us all. Our sincere condolences to all...

How perfect to have a photo of Martha with Jim. They were beautiful and interesting individuals and a fun, inspiring, love-filled couple. We were blessed to have them touch our lives.

I am so sorry about Martha. My mom (Frances Hoffman Sharp) went to school with Jim and was good friends with both Jim and Martha. They both were great people. They both will be missed greatly.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
